Well its about 1AM for me, and i just wanted to make a blog post just to let you guys know this blog is still the best place to find out if anything is wrong with TVF, etc.

Well i must have had a premonition.. cuz when i was driving one day i saw a car that had the random license plate and it was something like xxxfsql .. im thinking.. yeah fuck SQL.. but im thinking 100 times more than that today.

I had to pay a dollar / minute to get the backup from my host. But low and behold they are fucking retarded and i get a raw database backup.. with myd, frm, and myi files.. Won’t import with phpmyadmin or bigdump.. I spent seriously from the time i woke up till now figuring out how to convert it.

I talked to my old host (fucking idiots, didnt respond), my new one, (tech. guy out..), and hostmonster (its not possible they said. fucktards)… FOR 8 HOURS TODAY!! ahh… seriously..

Okay now that im done with my rant, The update..
I had to install mysql 5 on my desktop @ home.. and bring the files in there and backup to a txt file.. its doing this right now. when its done im going to try gzipping and uploading. then import it.. Hope this works.. But we SHOULD be back up sometime tonight…

Update: Everything appears to be fine.. Uploading Gzip’d DB as we speak

There are a few ways to view TVF’s new server w/o having to wait for the whole DNS thing to propagate..

1. Use openDNS. (this may help.. may not.. ) Google it its very nice.
2. PROXY . http://www.aliveproxy.com/proxy-list-port-8080/
3. Yourfreedom. Its a proxy app. Pretty nice. Its free. google it.
4. My ace in the hole.. If you want to go about editing the hosts file ( google it..) you just need to add the following lines to it.
91.214.45.11 theviperfiles.com
91.214.45.11 www.theviperfiles.com

PLEASE NOTE: If we ever switch again you will have to update or remove these lines in the hosts file. So maybe a proxy would work for you. It is also complicated..

So apparently the host we are on now decides it wants to be down every 15 minutes and denies actually being down.. So we are going to say F U and switch
